Department distributes 2024 funding to 61 local and territorial governments.
The Department of Energy (DOE) distributed $17.7 million to improve energy efficiency in a wide range of communities. Sixty-one local and territorial governments received this round of funding from the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) program, which can be used for any kind of upgrades that reduce energy consumption. LED streetlights, electric vehicle charging stations, and off-grid energy solutions are all eligible projects for this program.
“The success of America’s clean energy transition will be found at the state and local level which is why President Biden and Vice President Harris have helped transform local clean energy plans into real, lasting actions,” said Secretary Jennifer Granholm. “The EECBG Program recognizes that climate solutions are not one-size fits all and provides localities with the tools needed to increase access to clean energy and boost energy resilience through community-led initiatives.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Granholm to seek God’s direction as she pursues clean energy goals.
- For U.S. energy officials to be prudent in their support of energy development and storage.
